After more than 40 successful years - with world-class swimming pools as a hallmark - Malmsten takes the next big step. Marcus Malmsten will now take over as CEO of the family business.

After ten years in the company with a bachelor degree in business Marcus Malmsten has work experience from the German market, participated in the growth of a subsidiary - focused on water slides and later headed the development of a new height-adjustable floor trending on the world's pool market. He comes from a project management position at the head office in Åhus and has recently completed an executive management leadership course training at the Stockholm School of Business.

At the side in the lead he has his brother Christian Malmsten, the company's technical creator and experienced product developer.

"The idea has always been that the sons should take over the business and as a leadership team they complement each other perfectly. This feels like a safe, fun, and completely natural step in generations shift," - says Margareta Malmsten.

Together with her husband Tommy Malmsten, former Olympic swimming coach, they started Malmsten in 1974. The small-scale manufacturing of swimming goggles at the kitchen table has turned over the years into a worldwide group of companies, with own developed racing lane lines which have been used during sport events of highest rank for past 4 decades. 2015 was an all-time high with turnover reaching 231 million sek and record profits. The headcount in Åhus has doubled in just eight years, and in connection with the management change the company seeks yet more project managers.

Founder's duo Tommy and Margareta Malmsten, former CEO, will continue as a senior advisers in the company. During a brief transitional period, to develop organizational structure and communication, the Board member Mats Hallkvist worked as an external CEO.

"We have got a very good foundation to work from. We are eager to lead Malmsten into the next phase, while the fundamental values and passion for water in a global sport environment shall always remains in the company," - says new CEO Marcus Malmsten.
